In cooperation with 16 European partners, including large corporations such as Philips, Nokia and Indra, Evalan participates in the SMARCOS Development Project. This project is partially funded by the European ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking, the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade and the Ministry of Economics of The Netherlands, and is part of the Dutch "Point One" initiative.

One of the objectives of this project is to develop and use new methods for data processing, such as context awareness and semantic data models, in new applications. The project focuses on three application areas, one of which is healthy living and health care.

These new technologies offer new opportunities in the development of applications that support patients, such that more variation is available and that patients can be provided with personalized feedback. With this it will be possible to adapt the applications to the specific conditions of the patient, such that support to each individual patient is optimal for the current situation of that patient.
