SensiStep supports patients and healthcare professionals during rehabilitation. It is intended for patients that need to limit the load on one of their legs, or that have to perform rehabilitation exercises with a specific target load.
Sensistep consists of a pressure sensor that is built into a sandal, and that can be worn by a patient during the exercise. A small device, the ‘Sensi’, can be worn on the wrist or a belt. This collects the data from the sensor and provides direct feedback to the patient about their load.
The Sensi can upload its data to a smartphone via Bluetooth. This data is then process through an App called the StepApp on the phone. Through this app the load can be monitored during the exercise. This can be done in real-time, or retroactively after the patient has completed the exercise. The App can also be used to set a target load for the excerise.
SensiStep is currently only available in The Netherlands and Belgium.
